5 FREE websites/apps that I use everyday to bring about happiness, inspiration and wellbeing
I am so excited to share with you the top five apps/websites that I have used in my own practice of happiness, inspiration and wellbeing. I did not realize that I was hoarding them until I was in a session with a client and realized I had all this awesome information to share. Now my clients are using these apps/websites too. So of course, I wanted to share with my readers as well. When we focus on the positive, we open ourselves up to a whole host of possibilities. So check these out and let me know what you think! I hope you like them as much as I do.
Practice Gratitude with the Happier App
I love the Happier app. It is with me wherever I go and I use it constantly. Gratitude is a practice and I use the happier app to track my gratitude. Just like many people have an exercise routine, I have a gratitude routine. Gratitude brings about more happiness and more wellbeing. So if you are down for it, check out the happier app and start tracking what you are grateful for today and then check in to see how your mood and overall way of thinking starts to shift. Make it a practice and you’ll notice the difference in how you feel.
What are you grateful for today?
Practice Journaling with Penzu or Evernote
I’ve been using Penzu a while for personal journaling. This helps me release my thoughts into the journal. Journaling is a great way to do so many things. You can plan your day, write out feelings and thoughts about something that may be bugging you. It can help with big decisions and weighing options. It can be a regular old journal, like a diary. Journaling has been linked to lowering anxiety, problem solving, stress-reduction practicing mindful awareness, and overall wellbeing (Purcell, 2006). Then I found Evernote for tracking my blog posts, notes, clipping webpages and all sorts of cools stuff. These are the greatest lifehacks for making writing and keeping track of notes easier. I also know people who keep track of their billing and receipts in Evernote. It is fab! Best of all, both apps/sites are free to use. Check them out.
Practice Inspiration and get ideas for “how to” do just about anything – then pin it!
I use pinterest for yummy recipes, how to make cute costumes for my kiddo, face painting, travel ideas, interior design inspiration, new yoga moves, at-home exercise routines, protein shakes, green smoothies, etc. I also love the great craft ideas they have for kids, families, and for all types of stuff.
Pinterest is the ideal place to go for inspiration for your home, for your office, and when in a pinch to make a costume or get ready for that upcoming Christmas play. In fact, I used it just the other night to make a special all veggie soup when one of my vegan friends was coming over. See!? It has just about anything you can imagine!
I use the Spirit Junkie app to practice affirmations. Affirmations help us to purify our thoughts and to restructure negative thinking.
Affirmations are a great way to get in touch with your mind and to challenge negative thinking. Positive affirmations can be created from just about anything, but I like the Spirit Junkie app because it automatically gives you new affirmations on a daily basis to apply to your life.
Check out these apps and websites and see if they are helpful to you and your life. If you have already heard of them and use them, how do they inspire, challenge or help you to live your best life?
If you haven’t heard of them, take a look and check them out when you have time. They may help you to see another perspective, or help you to fill your life with more joy, inspiration, happiness, and gratitude.
